Weather in Greece
Generally Greece has hot dry summers and mild wet winters. Summer temperatures hover around 30°C (87°F) but are usually offset by strong northern winds. There is almost no clouds or rain during the summer months and it is ideal for those heading to the islands or beaches.
Winter temperatures in Greece can be severe throughout the country, especially in the mountains, but average around 15°C (59°F). Snow is possible anywhere in the country and it is also the wettest season. Spring and autumn are short seasons of transition from the heat of summer to the rainy winter, and the weather can be quite changeable. The summer shoulder months of April and May or September and October are generally considered the best time to visit Greece as there are less crowds and still beautifully warm weather.
